How Mother Dairy sells and appoints

Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd sells under the Mother Dairy, Safal and Dhara names.¹ Its home market is Delhi-NCR, where it leads in branded milk “through a robust network of its booth and retail channels”, and it has expanded to other regions with milk and milk products.⁴

• Its own shops in Delhi. Mother Dairy’s consumer channel is its own milk booths, franchise shops and kiosks: about 1,800 in October 2021, with a target of 2,500+ by March 2023.⁵
• Shops beyond its own. Products are sold “through over 70,000 retail outlets and almost 3,000 exclusive retail outlets across the National Capital Region and around 3,50,000 retail outlets across India”, and through mobile units and modern retail, CRISIL Ratings wrote in March 2025.⁷
• Growth outside NCR is through distribution. In January 2022 it planned to take ghee from 150 to about 200 towns and from 10,000 to about 50,000 outlets.⁶
• Authorised distributors are appointed after verification. Its public notice speaks of “new appointment of authorized distributors/franchise/retailer-Rented Shop” after “their due verification process”.¹

Mother Dairy lists five sales offices, with addresses only (no phone or email for each):²

How to apply: the official way

   Mother Dairy’s public notice: “The Company has a dedicated centralised system to address such queries. Prospective business associates can contact us through 1800 180 1018 or can send us an email at Consumer.Services@motherdairy.com only.”¹ Its corporate office is at A-3, NDDB House, Sector-1, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201301.²

   Say exactly what you can run

   Our suggestion, since Mother Dairy publishes no format: name your town and the areas you can cover; say which range you want to carry (Mother Dairy dairy products, Safal, Dhara); describe your cold room or freezers, your godown and your vehicles; give your GSTIN, the companies you distribute now and how many shops you supply.

   Pay nothing until you are verified

   The notice says money for a new appointment is routed to the company’s account only “after their due verification process”.¹ The account is in the money section below.

What you need before you apply

No company in this series publishes a full document list. These are the registrations the law itself asks of a distributor, from the government’s own pages:

FSSAI rules a distributor must follow

• Buy and sell food only from and to FSSAI licensed or registered businesses, and keep the records. (FSSAI licence conditions)
• Give a warranty in Form E on your bill or cash memo when you sell food to a shop.
• Licences and registrations issued from 1 April 2026 do not expire; the fee is still yearly, and you may pay several years at once. (FSSAI FAQ, 27 Mar 2026)
• On the application, tick every kind of business that applies: Distributor/Supplier, Wholesale Trade, Storage/Warehouse/Cold Storage.
• Fees: the last published table is ₹100 a year for registration and ₹2,000 for a State licence for traders. FSSAI said in March 2026 that fees were reduced, so check the amount on FoSCoS when you apply.

Security deposit and other money

Mother Dairy’s homepage alert says “Security deposit Bank Account Detail provided.”³ The public notice then gives the one account “through which transactions for new appointment of authorized distributors/franchise/retailer-Rented Shop are routed through after their due verification process”.¹

That account is with HDFC Bank, in the company’s own name: Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd. We do not copy the account number here: read it on Mother Dairy’s own notice, so you always see the current one.

• What this means. A real Mother Dairy appointment can involve a security deposit. It is paid only after Mother Dairy has verified you, and only into this account in the company’s own name. The company says it never asks for money by Paytm, Google Pay, UPI, WhatsApp or against a cash receipt.¹
• The amount is not published. Mother Dairy does not say how much the deposit is for a distributor.^1,3
• Our suggestion: before you pay, open motherdairy.com/fake-website-alert.aspx yourself and match the account number and IFSC digit by digit, and confirm the payment on 1800 180 1018.
• Not published: distributor margins, credit or advance-payment terms, and the investment needed. We found no credible news report of them either.
• The ₹1,00,000 deposit and ₹11,000 income in the box above belong to the ex-servicemen booth scheme, not to a distributorship.

Once you are appointed: what the work looks like

• In Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy also reaches buyers itself: its booths, kiosks and franchise shops carry the full Mother Dairy, Safal and Dhara range and take digital payments,⁵ and it sells through mobile units and modern retail.⁷
• Mother Dairy publishes nothing on a distributor’s daily work: no ordering app or distributor software, no dispatch timings, no crate deposit rule, no policy for leaking or expired packs, no payment terms.
• Our suggestion: before you sign, get these in writing from Mother Dairy: payment terms (advance or credit days), margin by product, dispatch time, crate deposit and return, how leaking or expired packs are taken back, and which shops and areas are yours.
